Finland's 18-year-old ice hockey star Kaapo Kakko prepared for his team's next match against the USA team in Kosice, on Sunday.

During Finland's 3:1 win over Canada in their opening game of the 2019 IIHF World Championship, the 18-year-old forward scored twice, as well as scoring a hat-trick in a match against Slovakia the night before.

Over the weekend, the Finnish prospect scored five goals in his first two games of the 2019 IIHF World Championship and remained a leader in the number of goals scored in this Championship. If Finland win the tournament, Kaapo Kakko would become the youngest player ever to achieve the gold medal at the World Championships.

Kaapo Kakko will likely play for the New York Rangers as the No. 2 overall pick in next month's NHL Draft in Vancouver.

The 2019 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship is being held in Slovakia from May 10 to 26, with matches being played in two host cities - the country's capital Bratislava and the city of Kosice.
