Six people died in a fire that started late Monday, June 10 in a municipal psychiatric clinic in the Ukrainian southern port of Odessa, according to Ukraine's emergencies service.

Squads of firefighters, emergency and medical workers and policemen were seen at site, extinguishing the fire and evacuating patients.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed his condolences and ordered the prime minister to investigate the reasons of the accident, which remain unclear.

Police launched a criminal investigation of the case.
