Several hundred people gathered to celebrate Serbia's Statehood Day in Orasac on Friday, with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and President Aleksandar Vucic attending the ceremony.

President of Republika Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic, Minister of Labour Zoran Djordjevic, Minister of Energy Aleksandar Antic and Minister for Innovation Nenad Popovic were among those who joined the event.

Activists demonstrated their discontent with Vucic and Brnabic, waving signs and shouting "you betrayed Kosovo" and "traitors."

In 2001, the Serbian Parliament declared February 15 a national holiday to commemorate the start of the first Serbian uprising against Ottoman rule in 1804. On the same day in 1835, the first Serbian constitution was signed into law.
