South Korea says it will conditionally suspend the expiry of a critical military intelligence-sharing agreement with Japan. It announced the decision hours before the pact was due to expire. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has described South Korea's move as a "strategic decision." Seoul gave notice to Tokyo in August that it would stop sharing intelligence after Japan imposed export curbs on its chip components.
