Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting in the Kremlin in Moscow on Saturday.

“On New Year’s Eve I joked that probably we got a little bored of each other. But we will never get bored of each other, there are issues we need to discuss,” Lukashenko said.

Putin stated that a working group was being created for further developing relations in the economic sphere and on the Belarusian President’s proposal to create a union state.

At the end of the meeting the leaders extended wishes for a Happy New Year.
