Kirill Vyshinsky, Chief Editor of RIA Novosti Ukraine held a press conference in Moscow on Monday, following a prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine.
Vyshinsky expressed his hopes that what happened was a “tectonic shift” in the relationship between the two countries. He added that if former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko had been re-elected, he would have stayed in prison.
On the morning of September 7, a Russian Tu-204 landed at Boryspil Airport in Kiev while a Ukrainian plane landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo-2 airport. The Ukrainian plane took 35 prisoners from Ukraine to Russia, including Vyshinsky, as the Ukrainian presidential website reports. Russia also released 35 people, including Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, according to Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatiana Moskalkova.
