Units from Central Military District tested the S-300 'Favorit' surface-to-air missile system in combat drills at the Ashuluk testing range, Astrakhan Region, as shown in footage released by the MoD on Sunday.

During the exercises, the S300 launched a number of missiles which destroyed a total of 20 aerial targets, the Russian Defence ministry reports. The 'Armavir', 'Bekas', 'Favorit' and 'Pischal' supersonic missiles were all employed.

According to the report, the the surface-to-air missile regiment traveled from the Sverdlovsk Region for the drills which end this month.
