Russian President Vladimir Putin told US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that Moscow would like to fully restore relations with Washington, speaking in Sochi on Tuesday.

Putin said that during his telephone call with US President Donald Trump on May 3, "I got the impression that the president [Trump] was inclined to re-establish Russian-American relations and contacts to resolve together the issues that are of mutual interest to us."

The Russian leader said that from Moscow has "more than once said that we would like to restore our relations fully as well. I hope that now the conditions for that have been met."

Putin told the American top diplomat that Russia has never interfered with US elections, and that the Mueller probe had proved that there never was any connection between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.
