Russia would "never" extradite its 13 nationals who were indicted by the US for allegedly meddling in the 2016 US presidential election, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with NBC in Moscow, Sunday.
"Never. Russia does not extradite its citizens to anybody," he told NBC reporter Megyn Kelly, adding "just like the United States."
Commenting on the 13 Russian nationals, Putin said: "I know that they do not represent the Russian state, the Russian authorities. What they did specifically, I have no idea."
He noted that Russian authorities would be able to comment on the matter further if their US counterparts "give us the documents, specific ones, with substantiation."
