Saudi Deputy Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman delivered a speech at the opening session of the 8th Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.

Commenting on the conference itself, Saudi official noted that: “it is not surprising that this initiative is coming from friendly country of Russia that we have brotherly relationship with historically.”

“Our cooperation and participation of Saudi Arabia in this conference is underpinned by our interest in continuing the efforts of the world community to strengthen peace and security”, he continued.

Bin Salman went on to criticise Iran, saying the country threatens the stability of the Middle East because it “shares the values and principles that are followed by the terrorist groups in the region and the agents of this regime, such as Hezbollah militants and Houthis militants in Yemen”.
