Seoul says it will be terminating its military intelligence-sharing pact with Tokyo. The decision was made amid the rising trade dispute between the two sides, caused by Japan's tightened control last month on its export to South Korea of three materials vital to producing memory chips and display panels. The General Security of Military Information Agreement was signed in 2016. It allows Tokyo and Seoul to share intelligence that would help tackle nuclear threats from the DPRK.
