A new robotic doctor called the Walklake has been introduced to kindergartens across China to perform morning health checks on students; footage filmed in a school in Suzhou on Tuesday shows the Robo-Doc in action.
The robot can perform a morning health check on students in just three seconds by taking scans of their hands, mouth, teeth and eyes, as well as taking the child's temperature. If any abnormalities are detected, a warning is displayed on screen.
"We saw the kindergarten started using the robot for the morning health check last year. Before that, my child didn't like the morning health check. When the robot was there, the kids were curious about something new and they like it," a parent, Yi Suzhen said.
The robot has already been introduced into over 6,000 kindergartens across China and is already proving effective.
