Starbucks is here to reward you for your loyalty.
On April 16th, Starbucks Rewards loyalty program will be re-tooled.
Here’s what you need to know.
Basically, members will be able to earn Stars – or rewards points - sooner and use those points to purchase items like select merchandise and packaged coffee for the first time, in addition to other menu items.
For those with a Starbucks rewards credit or debit card, points won’t expire.
Matt Ryan, the chief marketing officer at Starbucks tells USA Today that “depending on what you want, in as little as two or three visits, you can have it.”
Customers get two Stars – or points – for every dollar spent.
Instead of being able to qualify for rewards once customers hit 300 stars within a year, the new system starts at a lower tier.
For 25 points, you can customize your drink with things like an extra espresso shot or dairy substitute.
50 points gets you a brewed hot coffee, hot tea or something from the bakery.
Or packaged coffee for 400 points.
The coffee company’s rewards program means business.
Membership grew to 16 million active members as of December 2018.
That’s a 14% jump over the prior year.
Clearly, there’s only one way Starbucks lovers take their coffee.
