British politics was thrown into chaos and Brexit into doubt Wednesday as Conservative lawmakers triggered a no-confidence vote in Prime Minister Theresa May that would have seen her removed as party and government leader if she lost.

May won the vote, but with only 200 MPs voting in favour of May and 117 against, she says she will listen to those who voted against her to gain their confidence.

With the vote in favour of May, another confidence vote cannot be held for 12 months.
