Quebec to cut immigration by 20%

The new Quebec government is moving forward with its pledge to cut the number of immigrants to the province by 20 per cent in the next year. Premier François Legault will require co-operation from Ottawa to follow through on the plan, as Quebec only has jurisdiction over economic immigration. The federal government controls programs dealing with family reunification and refugees.
