Putin plays ice hockey on Red Square

Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the New Year with a game of ice hockey on a rink near the Kremlin on December 29. It was for the "Amateur Night Hockey League", which was founded by Putin and several famous Russian hockey veterans in 2011. Putin traditionally plays at least one ice hockey match every year. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and veteran players Vyacheslav Fetisov and Pavel Bure also took part.
