Professional competitive eater Joey Chesnut has retained his world shrimp cocktail eating title by chowing down 4.53 kg (10 lbs) of the dish in eight minutes in Indianapolis on Saturday.
This year he wasn't able to beat his own record set last year, when he consumed 8.43 kg (18.58 lbs) in just eight minutes, because he struggled to "find the right rhythm" this year. He has already vowed to return next year.
Chesnut is famous for winning several hot dog eating championships, including eating 74 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes; 141 hardboiled eggs in eight minutes; and 390 shrimp wontons, also in eight minutes.
Gideon Oji and George Chiger came in second and third place with 3.17kg (7lb) each.
