Business Insider reports parents of young children are holding chicken pox parties.

At such gatherings, healthy children are put in the same room as a child who has the disease.

The idea is so the healthy children can catch it and "get it over with."

But pediatrician Dr. Natasha Burgert says even healthy children can die from a bout of chicken pox.

Rather than host or attend chicken pox parties, parents should vaccinate their children to prevent the chicken pox and other viruses.
