A landslide at the edge of Naga City on the Philippine island of Cebu killed claimed the lives of at least 12 people and left 50 missing, Thursday.

The landslide was caused by heavy rains brought in the wake of Typhoon Mangkhut, which lashed the Philippines last week resulting in the deaths of 88 people throughout the island nation.

Rescue operations across the Philippines continue to be hampered by loose soil and heavy rain, according to local authorities.
