The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rallied in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Thursday to observe India's independence day as a 'Black Day' in protest over Indian actions in Kashmir.
Various PTI leaders and members participated in the rally, which saw protesters holding banners and chanting slogans. Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar were reported to be in attendance.
The rally comes at a time of growing tensions between India and Pakistan, after the Indian government decided on August 5 to strip Jammu and Kashmir of its autonomous status under Article 370 of the constitution.
The move provoked strong reactions in Pakistan, leading Islamabad's authorities to announce they would cut bilateral trade with India and expel the Indian ambassador.
