Thousands marched the streets of Lahore as Pakistan observed a 'Black Day' on Thursday, to mark India's Independence Day celebrations amid high tensions over the status of Kashmir.
In a speech during the rally, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said: "Today the world is watching on the eleventh day and there is curfew imposed in Kashmir .. Tomorrow, I hope, the Security Council members, considering the grave situation [of Kashmir] will discuss the issue"
The rally comes at a time of growing tensions between India and Pakistan, after the Indian government decided on August 5 to strip the region of its autonomous status under Article 370 of the constitution.
The move provoked strong reactions in Pakistan, leading Islamabad's authorities to announce they would cut bilateral trade with India and expel the Indian ambassador.
