Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held meetings with Pakistani leaders in Islamabad on Friday, during his official visit to the country amid Tehran's rising tensions with the US.

Footage shows Zarif meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.

According to reports, Zarif arrived in the capital on Thursday night looking for Islamabad's support to deescalate the situation with the US.

Tensions have been rising for days between the United States and Iran as leaders from both sides have traded insults and threats, amid reports the US is looking to bolster its military presence in the Middle East.
