Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hosted a huge rally in Islamabad in front of the Indian High Commission to taint India's independence celebrations as a 'Black Day' in protest against Indian actions in Kashmir. The rally was also attended by public figures such as Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Several seminars were organized at various places to highlight Pakistan's stance on the Kashmir issue.

The rally once again illustrates the ever-growing tensions in the Pakistan-India relations, especially after the Indian government stripped ad Kashmir of its autonomy on August 5th. Since then, Pakistan’s authorities responded with promises to cut bilateral trade with India as well as expel the country’s ambassadors.
