Older People Fall Outdoors, Too

Older adults need to be made aware of the risk of falls outdoors, an area often neglected compared to indoor falls.

According to UPI, roughly 30 percent of adults age 65 and older fall each year.

A new study shows people who fall outdoors are more likely to be male, younger, active and fast walkers.

The falls are likely to cause physical injuries such as head injuries, fractures and open wounds.

Also, older people who fall suffer from emotional issues such as fear and anxiety about falling again.
