The Notre Dame cathedral held its first Mass following the catastrophic fire that engulfed the landmark in Paris almost two months ago.

Saturday’s mass at the Gothic building was celebrated by Paris archbishop Michel Aupetit amid reduced attendance. For security reasons, only about 30 people — mainly priests, canons and church employees — were admitted inside the cathedral. Aupetit wore a construction worker’s helmet in addition to his miter.
