According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, North Korean state media called a summit between its leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump fruitless, claiming that people were blaming the United States for the lack of an agreement. Despite reports of North Korea reactivating parts of its missile program, Trump's national security advisor said that the president remains open to more talks aimed at denuclearization. Reuters reports that following the collapse of the summit, U.S. ally Japan expressed skepticism regarding the future of diplomacy given how the two sides have now failed to make amends.
