NFL QB Named in Sports Memorabilia Scheme

According to a report, NFL quarterback Eli Manning has been named in a scheme to pass off New York Giants equipment as game worn to memorabilia collectors even though the items never made it to the actual playing field. The New York Post reported on Thursday that it has obtained court papers, including a April 2010 email from Manning to a Giants equipment manager named Joe Skiba, asking for “2 helmets that can pass as game used.” Three memorabilia collectors are currently suing the Giants, Manning, Skiba and others saying they conspired to dupe collectors of authentic game-worn uniforms.
