News publishers will testify in front of Congress on Tuesday to argue that tech giants like Google and Facebook should receive regulatory oversight. According to Business Insider, publishers say that online platforms have control over digital advertising revenue, and that more of that money should go to the journalism industry. A study from the nonprofit Save Journalism Project found that 63% of digital ad revenue is controlled by Google and Facebook. The hearings may include discussion of a proposed bill called the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act.
