Three newborns, whose mothers have been confirmed or highly suspected to have been infected with novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) before delivery, are under observation recently in the neonatal intensive care unit (ICU) of the Wuhan-based Tongji Hospital.

Chen Ling, professor of pediatrics of the Tongji Hospital, said the obstetrics and pediatrics departments work closely together for these mothers and infants.

The three infants are kept in isolation under observation, which requires 14 days. They are currently in good health and have negative nucleic acid test results. The mother-to-child vertical transmission has yet to be determined, according to doctors. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20200210/8134839.shtml#!language=1
