At a gathering on Friday to mark one week since the mosque attacks in Christchurch, women of all faiths were seen wearing headscarves similar to the traditional hijab worn by Muslim women to show their support for the victims.

Mourners at the event in Hagley Park can be seen signing a memorial and gathering near the Masjid Al Noor mosque.

One resident expressed his support for the sentiment, saying he was "proud of our prime minister and proud of Christchurch's people, mucking in and bringing it all together. I think this is a very special moment for the city."
