Californians are using apps to help them better prepare for earthquakes. Shake Alert LA uses USGS data to give people up to a 30-second warning when a tremor takes place. Early Warning Labs also uses USGS data to help put buildings into safe mode when a quake happens. CGTN's Phil Lavelle has more.
