Hundreds of people gathered at 'Las Fallas' festival in Valencia where effigies of Trump, Hitler, Stalin Franco and others were burned as the culmination of the yearly event on Tuesday.

"We put everything into caricature and satire, so that we can burn it and purify it, and from there, give birth to other good things," said Jose Pedro Ros, President of the Falla Sueca Literato Azorin association.

The Fallas is a typical Valencian celebration that commemorates Saint Joseph. Las Fallas celebrates the end of winter and runs over March 15 to 19, with revellers parading giant papier-mache figures, known as "ninots", through the streets before setting them alight and letting off fireworks.
