According to Reuters, Myanmar’s Supreme Court heard an appeal for two journalists imprisoned for breaking a colonial-era law.

Reporters Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were initially arrested in in December 2017, but a judge found them guilty of violating the Official Secrets Act late last year, sentencing them to seven years in prison.

The Yangon High Court rejected an appeal filed in January to release the Reuters reporters.

They were charged with violating the colonial-era law for reporting on a massacre of Rohingya Muslims, which involved Myanmar soldiers.
