Tens of thousands of people packed the Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo on Friday, to hear Pope Francis, who is on a three-country tour of Africa, speak about challenges the country is facing.

According to some estimates, around 40,000 people filled the stadium, while many others lined along the streets of the Pope's motorcade route.

"The Pope visits here to break some problems in Mozambique. But now we are happy when [the] Pope [is] coming here today. We are happy," said Doris, an attendee.

Pope Francis arrived in Mozambique in Wednesday. He is also scheduled to visit Madagascar and Mauritius.
