Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Saturday, June 8, addressed the Maldives' parliament during his first official overseas trip since being re-elected to a second term.

He told lawmakers that it was time for the international community to launch a global effort to tackle terrorism.

Modi is the first Indian prime minister to visit the South Asian archipelago nation for bilateral talks in eight years.
