Devastating floods continuted to affect Nebraska and Iowa on Tuesday after leaving at least four people dead and causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damages. Reuters reports flooding stretched across the two states along the Missouri River,. Nearly half of Iowa’s 99 counties have been declared disaster areas since the start of the flooding. Vice President Mike Pence was scheduled to visit the Midwestern states on Tuesday, after Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin declared states of emergency. The National Farmers Union trade group said the destruction will be "catastrophic for farmers." Nebraska officials estimate more than $1 billion in damage for the state’s agricultural sector so far.
