Hundreds of Central American migrants have waded across the Suchiate River from Guatemala into southern Mexico on Monday. The influx is seen as heralding a new test of U.S. President Donald Trump's Central America strategy to keep them away from the U.S. border. Some scuffled with Mexican national guardsmen on the riverbank while others slipped through Mexican lines. Most had been blocked from crossing en masse over the border bridge. On Monday, large numbers of migrants were detained at the river and along the highway.
