The exhibition 'Like Life: Sculpture, Color, and the Body' opened for a vernissage at the Met Breuer in New York City on Monday.
It intends to depict the human body as realistically as possible and, through that, explore human history, form and meaning.
"One can go as far as to say that the history of sculpture is the history of the human body. Our exhibition 'Like Life' explores many stories of sculpture in which artists devoted themselves to replicating the presence of the human body, often creating works of stunning verisimilitude," said Sheena Wagstaff, the exhibition's curator.
'Like Life' will be on view at the Met Breuer from March 21 through July 22, 2018.
