According to a report by Newser, on Wednesday, former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was sentenced to 73 months in prison. Manafort reportedly read from a prepared statement, pleading with US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson to limit his prison sentence to the original 47-month sentence he was given last week in a separate case related to tax and bank fraud. Axios reports that Jackson had the ability to make Manafort's sentence concurrent, which she allowed for 30 months of his sentence. After news of his new sentence broke, the Manhattan DA's office announced an indictment for Manafort on state charges alleging that he ran a yearlong mortgage fraud scheme.
