Malaysia ex-PM attends 1st day of corruption trial

Former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him as he went on trial on Wednesday. The 65-year-old faces seven charges in the first of a series of trials over his involvement in suspected money laundering from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad state fund, or 1MDB. The first trial focused on suspected transfers totaling over 10 million U.S. dollars into Najib's bank account. The former Malaysian leader has consistently denied any wrongdoing and says the charges against him are politically motivated.
