Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Macao's outgoing Chief Executive Chui Sai on Wednesday to commence a three-day celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of Macao's handover from Portugal to China.

President Xi met with Chief Executive Chui amongst other Macao officials where he praised Macao's implementation of 'one country, two systems' as well as endorsing its stability.

"The Chinese central government fully appreciates the efforts you have made," added President Xi.
