British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker along with the EU's Head Negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier in a Luxembourg restaurant on Monday.

Both Johnson and Juncker claimed they were "cautious" ahead of a working lunch where the two were expected to discuss potential Brexit deal.

According to a statement from Downing Street after the lunch time meeting, the two sides have agreed to 'intensify' their Brexit discussions and that the UK PM reiterated to Juncker that his government was intent on meeting their October 31st exit deadline.

Johnson has previously committed his government to leaving the EU 'with or without a deal' on the planned departure date, however the British parliament recently voted into law a bill which could force his government to extend the October 31st deadline if a deal is not reached beforehand.
