UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt is expected to give a statement to the House of Commons on Monday, July 22, on further measures the UK will take to secure the release of the British-flagged oil tanker seized by the Islamic Republic's navy in the Strait of Hormuz.

On Saturday, July 20, Hunt spoke to the media after a ministerial meeting and warned Iran of "serious diplomatic and economic consequences" if it does not release the vessel, which remains in Bandar Abbas Port.

According to an Iranian state-run news agency, the tanker seized on Friday was using the exit lane to enter into the Strait of Hormuz, almost colliding with other vessels.​
