Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks to the press following the annual ‘Direct Line’ Q&A session in Moscow on Thursday, June 20.

During the ‘Direct Line’ citizens across Russia get the opportunity to contact the president via telephone, text message, website or the dedicated mobile application in order to ask questions.

The first phone-in with President Putin took place in 2001 when he received around 400,000 questions.
