Kiev’s Appeals Court reviews the defence team’s appeal in the case of the detention of RIA Novosti Ukraine Editor-in-Chief, Kirill Vyshinsky, on Tuesday, August 20.

The final hearing in the Vyshinsky case was due to have taken place on August 3, but was postponed due a request by lawyers.

Vyshinsky has been held under arrest since May 15, 2018, on charges of high treason and illegal possession of weapons, which carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years. Vyshinsky denies all the charges, and has accused the prosecution of conducting "political games" in order to keep him behind bars.
