According to a report by Reuters, on Wednesday, the governor of Lagos state said that several people had been killed when a Nigerian building that housed a school collapsed and that rescuers are continuing the search for survivors. Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of Lagos, said, "We have rescued about 25 people, some already dead." The four-story building reportedly collapsed, leaving 100 schoolchildren and many others feared trapped beneath the rubble. Ambode reportedly did not specify how many people were believed to have been killed.
