Kentucky's attorney general has sued a drug distributor for contributing to opioid abuse in the state.

The lawsuit accuses AmerisourceBergen Corp of filling suspiciously large or frequent pharmacy orders of prescription painkillers.

Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear has filed three other lawsuits seeking to hold corporations responsible for their contributions to a national opioid epidemic.

Two of the other cases were filed against AmerisourceBergen’s competitors.

Along with Amerisource, Cardinal Health Inc and McKesson Corp account for 85-percent of the US prescription drug market.
