A Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome with the International Space Station (ISS) Expedition 56-57 crew aboard on Wednesday.

The crew consists of Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Prokopyev, ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst and NASA’s Serena Aunon-Chancellor.

The crew members are reported to have taken with them the a football in order to simulate a match on the ISS during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The spacecraft itself had the tournament’s logo attached to its body.

The Soyuz MS-09 is set to dock to the International Space Station on June 8.
