According to a report by Business Insider, the announcement that former White House chief of staff John Kelly would be joining the board of a company that operated the nation's largest facility that houses migrant children set off a firestorm of ethics concerns. Kelly was reportedly central in the administration separating migrant children from their families, sending them to government-contracted shelters like the one owned by Caliburn International. CEO James Van Dusen reportedly said in a statement that Kelly was a "strong strategic addition" to the board, which he said remains focused on the "safety and welfare of unaccompanied minors who have been entrusted to our care and custody."
