Priority for Tokyo 2020 coordination commission is tackling the heat issue, according to the International Olympic Committee members meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday.

According to Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori the organizing committee is considering the heat as "one of the most important issues" that this meeting is bound to address.

"Based on the proposal by the IOC expert group we are preceding to recommend earliest starting times for the men's and women's marathon in 20 kilometre race walk," Mori stated, adding that they will "work closely" with IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) that needs to approve such changes.
